About Cameron Newland
I’m Cameron Newland—nice to meet you.
Growing up in Bellevue, Washington, and having lived for short times in London, Paris, Athens, and Spain, I’ve been privileged to learn from some of the best role models on the planet (my mother and grandmother, family, and my cherished friends), who’ve graced me with my defining trait: service to others. I wake up every morning wonder one thing: how can I be of service to you?
If there is any way I can be of service to you, I’d be happy to entertain your proposal—simply send me an email at cameron (at) cameronnewland (dot) com.
If you’d like to know even more about me, read on.

I’m fascinated by global markets, politics, philosophy, mobile devices, technology, and foreign languages. I can freely converse in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Swedish, among others, and I’m constantly expanding my vernacular.
I’m obsessive about qualitative and quantitative traits. At the age of 7, I memorized every statistic of every Major League Baseball player for the previous 5 years. My talent with statistics and identifiable traits eventually drifted from baseball, and on to cars, stocks, and finally, mobile devices. With each challenge, I humbly enter a neophyte, and due to my motivation to change that, I eventually emerge an expert.
On a cross-country flight when I was a kid, the suit next to me sported a Motorola StarTAC. I was mesmerized. The phone was speaking to me. Luxurious, desirable, and out of reach. I wanted one.
Fast-forward 12 years, I became a wireless device expert who flew around the world attending consumer-electronics tradeshows to get glimpses of the future of mobile devices. LG, Apple, RIM…you name it, I saw it before it became a reality. I understand the landscape of mobile devices perhaps better than anyone (well, maybe Steve Jobs has an edge on me), and I serve as a sherpa to my friends and acquaintances who want the best device for their lifestyle and specific needs. This led me to my multi-year role as a wireless consultant to large organizations.
I’m also an unapologetic Europhile and linguaphile. My family brought me on a month-long trip to Western Europe when I was 14, after which I dedicated myself to learning Spanish, French, and Italian. When I was 18, I moved to London to study at University of London, Imperial College, and that experience cemented my affinity with Europe. I returned the next spring, settling in Alicante, Spain; I’d return to Alicante next summer to intern in banking and study Spanish at Universidad de Alicante / Universitat d’Alacant.
I got my start professionally by entering a financial analyst rotation program at multinational bank BBVA in Alicante, Spain. I rotated through mergers and acquisitions, retail savings, and wealth management, assisting customers in English and Spanish. I blame this summer abroad for my staunch and utterly misguided belief that midday siesta constitutes legitimate time management (perhaps there is some truth to it!)
If you know me personally, go ahead and friend me on Facebook. If I don’t know you yet, follow me on Twitter and maybe we can get better acquainted.
